Join me on my travelling and nom nomming adventures!
Hi everyone! Remember me?
My closest friends and family will know that 2016 kicked off with a bang and has so far been a blur of emotions, packing, ticking things off my bucket list, more packing, eating (of course), packing some more, farewells, and all the eating and emotions that go along with goodbyes. It’s little wonder that all these photos I’ve been taking and the stories that accompany them have remained unshared. I hope to rectify this oversight in the months to come, while they’re still relatively fresh in my mind. As it is, I’ve been scrolling through food photos over the past few days and struggling to remember where some of them were taken!
There’s always time for noms, even when blog updates need to take a backseat to life
Back in January this year, an exciting opportunity came up for me. I was offered a job in Brisbane, closer to my family. Whilst I love Perth, in truth more than Brisbane, I knew that if I didn’t jump on it, the opportunity may not come around again, and there was a high chance I may regret not spending more time with my adorable nieces, currently aged 4 and 4. Yup, twins – double the trouble but also double the fun!
As excited as I was, there was also the stress of packing up an entire house while still working full time, and also making 3 big overseas trips over the course of 2 months, all of which had been booked last year. I did briefly consider cancelling 1 or more of these trips, but decided in the end to work around them as they were all bucket list items I’ve been wanting to tick off for some time. Everything that was going on made for hectic times with me already falling sick almost half a dozen times this year as a result of all that stress, but boy am I glad I decided not to back down! Take a look at some of the things I’ve seen and experienced this year…
But more about these later.
What big changes am I referring to in the title of this post?
Firstly, the obvious one, location. I’m moving 4-5 hours by plane across the country, and with that comes a whole new array of cafes, restaurants and hopefully retreats/weekend trips for me to enjoy and share with you all.

Finally, in the interest of health, I’ve made significant lifestyle changes this year which have seen me cutting down my intake of complex carbohydrates and simple sugars. That’s not to say I’m no longer interested in food, but expect to see healthier food choices instead of desserts galore.
This new chapter of my life begins in just 3 days, and I am feeling as excited as I am anxious about what lies ahead, and sad about leaving behind everything that I hold dear about Perth. Will you embark upon this new journey with me?
